Touma Arak is a strong drink from Lebanon. The drink is characterized by notes of anise. It has an alcohol content of 50% and comes in a 54cl bottle. This Arak is often drunk as an aperitif. You do this by mixing 1/3 Arak with 2/3 water and lots of ice. The bottles are made of crystallized glass. It is made by the Touma house, one of the oldest and most famous producers in Lebanon, they have been making Arak since 1888!
Arak or araq is a clear, colorless, unsweetened, distilled alcoholic drink with an anise flavor. Arak is produced in countries such as Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Israel. This Arak should not be confused with the drink of the same name from Indonesia. Most Arak is made in Indonesia and, like rum and cachaça, is made from sugar cane. The Arak from countries such as Sri Lanka, Israel, Lebanon and India, on the other hand, is made from coconut.
